Graphic Endeavors for the Day

25 05 2008

After the countless hours of writing, I needed this break. After I transfered the pictures from the digicam, I had started having fun with Photoshop. I edited the pictures of my sisters and dogs to my fancy and below are the results.

Respectively, we have here (a) Coffee and Yoda, (b) Zelma, and (c) A.K.A “Tisha”. For Coffee and Yoda, I gave the photo a Polaroid effect, for Zelma a surreal like effect and for Tisha, obviously, the scary look effect (Believe me guys, she is pretty in person).

Want to make your own graphic endeavor? Vote for the pictures you’d like to learn how to make. After the end of the week once I tally the votes, I will make a tutorial for the picture who garnered the most votes. I’ll be featuring this tutorial in my other blog, vigoureuxartiste.

So what editing technique would you like to learn? A, B or C?  To vote, just send in your comments and give me the letters or title of the photos…

James’ Gift

18 05 2008

This is the work given by James to me for my birthday. He has a white and black version of this, but he printed out only black. I have both soft copies though. *grin* He did this using photoshop and the words he used for this are the words found in this very blog. It was very sweet of him and at least I had my reaction right this time. Apparently, most of my reactions are not what he expects I would show. This perfectly epitomizes the phrase, “if a picture paints a thousand words”. What do you think?

Just Updates

5 05 2008

I have long been planning to change my banner. However, the last one I made didn’t seem to appeal the graphic forum I have attended and prefer the current banner I have. Anyway, I have been working on my new banner. Not really me, more like James has been working on with my new banner. He basically did 80% of this all. The remaining 20% is all me. Marvel at the beautiful watermark I’ve created… *LOL* Honestly, I suck at vector so much that’s why I had James made me one. He has this artistic gift he loves to boast about and at another lifetime he must’ve been a painting virtuoso of some sort. Anyway, here is my work-in-progress banner. Tell me what you think, okay? Be honest, be brutal, James will take it lightly… :)

This is far from finished and we will be working on it more. However between the two concepts, which do you like best?

For my second update, after this, I’m off to bed. James, finally got hooked with blogging. He is more interested in monetizing his blog though. He just officially started yesterday. He hasn’t really set up, set up, his blog yet since he still has some questions that I need to answer. I would still have to show him around wordpress. Anyway if you want to drop by his blog and say a quick “hi” and some words of encouragement perhaps, his link is here: elmasahe.wordpress.com

Architectural Rendering

16 04 2008

I have been very busy lately which is why I haven’t had time to post or nurture my blogging fixation. Anyway, I got some little time to spare now. :)

Since Maurisyo has been hired to work for LazyAnimation, he has been very busy tinkering his new nifty computer and has been sending me architectural rendering samples almost everyday. I guess one of the reasons why I’m posting his work on my blog, aside from sheer natural bias, is that his recent designs are very refreshing. It’s very minimal, yet highly stylish. He is breaking away from two things in my opinion. First, he is breaking away from the usual Filipino architectural designs. Although you can already see a lot of modern buildings in Cebu, especially in Manila, but compare it to other countries, Philippine architecture is just so behind. Second, he is slowly breaking away from Medallaaj. Alex Medallaaj is a known Cebuano Architect and I must say I love his designs; although I’m not his avid fan but James would often point Medallaaj’s works and they generally pass my taste. Back to James. Medallaaj is one of his mentor and many of his designs before were like Medallaaj’s very own however lately you can only see traces of Medallaaj’s unwavering influence over a student and a fan.

Below are a few of his architectural design and rendering.

Comic Strip

10 03 2008

I stumbled upon this site wherein you can conveniently create your very own comic strip. Below is the comic strip I made.

Only Andrew and Xeny can understand this quirky antic so you might or might not find this funny. But to them, this is hilarious.

If you want to create your very own comic strip, you can check Bitstrips out. You can create your very own characters to star in your own comic series.
