Would you agree with me? (Yes/No - please state your reason as well)

The term “monthsary” is only invented by people who can’t keep a relationship long enough to reach a year. ~ zeniamai

5 Websites You Gotta Love

17 07 2008

I am quite busy these past few months and I think it is quite obvious through my sporadic posts. I was browsing the web, you know, trying to find web design inspirations when I stumble into these three five quite “original” sites. Sites that I hope you’ll enjoy…

Boss Bitching

If you have some hostile feelings toward your boss, you can vent out all those unsaid emotions here. (Evil grin) Boss Bitching is a user driven social content website that allows anonymous postings of stories about bosses. Visitors to Boss Bitching will read and rate posts. The posts that receive the most attention via the ratings will get promoted to the front page. Do you feel like bitching about your boss now?

Wordie

For people like us, who makes a life on writing or who loves to write and read. Wordie is definitely for you. How does it works? Wordie is basically like Flicker only you submit words.

Wordie lets you make lists of words and phrases. Words you love, words you hate, words on a given topic, whatever. Lists are visible to everyone but can be added to by just you, a group of friends, or anyone, as you wish. You can also join discussions, add citations and comments to words and lists. See who else has listed the same words. Submit a word now!

Listen to a Movie

This is one of the greatest niche on the net. I work 8 hours a day, starring mostly at my computer. I write write write and my only amusement at work is listening to radioblogclub. Now, I have a new form of amusement and it is listening to movies. Listen to a movie lets you listen to the audio part of movies and some TV programs. You also have to love the tag line, “For the cubicle workers of the world”. Go and listen to a movie now. (Currently listening to Knocked up)

Urban Dictionary

Hilarious (and practical) 100% user-maintained dictionary where users provide and vote on definitions for urban words (slangs). This will certainly make my word-for-the-day contribution exciting and fun (Just so you guys know, we have our daily “word-for-the-day” in our department). Expand your slang vocabulary.

Via Talk Free Connect

If you need to make a free qucik call in the US or Canada, you can use this. Enter your area code and phone number in addition to the digits you’d like to dial. Get talking and enjoy up to 10 minutes of talk time. It’s on them!

I have tweaked these photos to add a bit of drama. After interviewing this photography hobbyist, I got inspired last night and began working on some of my pictures…

Raining Babies

7 07 2008

It’s actually official, the baby industry is booming this year. Officemates and old time friends are either expecting a baby or already have one of their own. Its a phenomenon that’s relative to the meteoric I-want-to-get-married decisions. However the latter is not that popular since in our day and age, the baby comes first before we even decide to tie-the-knot. It’s quite funny and brave that people haphazardly enter into a seemingly unknown and a more difficult life situation such as parenthood. Out of a 100% only 20% were really decisive in getting themselves in a no backing out arrangement. The 80% on the other hand accidentally impinge the gates of parenthood as an end result of not “doing it” safely.

What is it with this year that topics on marriage and parenthood is an everyday discussion or an everyday news? Is there a bug of some sort that has bit people I know causing them heavy paunch bump?

I am not sure if this Raining Babies phenomenon is true to all. Maybe it is only true in my world and it’s only aim is to be a bright warning.

My own domain?

13 06 2008

I have been thinking. I was actually inspired by dirtylaundrydiva, she recently move to her very own domain. Good for her; I am just loving her blog bling-bling and all. So I have been thinking of getting one of my own. I enjoy blogging so much, let me rephrase it, I am addicted to blogging. There are a lot of perks when you have your own domain if you don’t mind that you’d be paying for it.

I have read 12 reasons why I should opt blogging with my own domain. What do you think about this?

I have been seriously contemplating on this and I have below my pro-con list.

Here is my Pro list

  1. I can add as much plug-ins
  2. I can customize my themes as much as I want to. I have this girly and cutesy theme planned out… *super huge grin*
  3. My URL is fairly shorter compared to my current URL
  4. Honestly, I would like to earn some passive income out of this addiction
  5. I can tweak the codes (I will try and learn some decent web development from now on)

My Con list on the other hand.

  1. I will be shelling out some cash
  2. I will have to start all over again but then this is not much of a problem. Patience is a virtue.
  3. I have no basic knowledge on HTML or something, so maintaining my own website can be such a challenge at a certain point

Basically that’s all I can think of as of now. I am really seriously considering this. James thinks its a great idea that I move to a more permanent online home. Can you help a friend out and tell me should I move or should I just stay?
