Bisdak Blogger ko. Bisdak Blogger ka.

My friend Miong, a bisdak blogger, recently informed me of this mini SEO contest that Winston of BatangYagit is having. I have been very busy ever since I have been ghost blogging for several websites and I know it is apparent since I barely have time to post here (my page rank dropped for all I care). So tonight, out of pure fun, I’m using up a part of my precious time to make this bisdak blogger post, for my bisdak blogger friend, Miong.

Anyway, for those of you who’s not familiar with this phrase I will be explaining it to you shortly. Bisdak is short for the term “Bisayang Daku”, this basically means one who speaks the Cebuano language (which is the Bisaya).  You don’t have to be a Cebuano, just speak bisaya and then you are a certified Bisdak. Now if you blog like me and Miong do, and you know the Bisaya langauge, you are then a certified Bisdak Blogger.

More than a Bisdak Blogger, I am a SEO that’s why my SEO work comes first than my blogs although I plan to pursue my own domain name within this year. Since I owe my RSS subscribers some more blogging tips, for this post I will give a quick dirty SEO tutorial for contests such as this, “The Bisdak Blogger – SEO contest”.

So here are my Quick and Dirty Tips for my fellow Bisdak Bloggers who I presume is trying to snag the number 1 spot in Google as of this very moment.

  1. When writing a post aimed for a particular keyword such as “Bisdak Blogger“, make sure you have a keyword density of at least 3% or at least higher than your competitor’s. Keyword density is computed using this formula: (total number of keyword) / (total number of words) = Keyword Density. So if you have around 10 bisdak blogger keyphrases and your  total number of words is 300, your keyword density for the Bisdak blogger keyphrase is 3.33%
  2. Link Build. If you want to rank for the keyword, “Bisdak Blogger“, make sure that you have sufficient text links using this keyword. I am linking to Miong’s Bisdak blogger post using the anchor text, you guessed it, Bisdak Blogger. Why? The more links pointing to your site  using this keyphrase means that your site is relevant for the  Bisdak Blogger term.

Well, that is basically the dirties and quickest SEO tutorial I’ve made but it basically sums up how SEO work.  Goodluck to whoever will win BatangYagit’s Bisdak Blogger contest.

xoxo – Gossip Girl

“XOXO Gossip Girl”. This infamous line is uttered each time an episode ends by the anonymous narrator of the hit TV series, Gossip Girl. Anyway, this post won’t be one of those fan blurbs instead this will plainly be about gossip. Yes, good old chismis.

Filipinos are quite fond of chismis which is why talk shows like “The Buzz” and “Entertainment Live” have such high ratings. People are generally interested about what’s the latest happening in the showbiz industry both local and international. Normal people, such as myself, would want a sneak peak of the glamorous life of the celebrities. Often, we would want to know about their flaw apart from their god and goddess like physic and status – so that we can feel good about our normal meandering lives (**evil grin**). Other than that we are just plainly interested of the their almost surreal lifestyle since these celebrities we have come to know have also become quite important to us (the degree varies).

Most individuals, especially women, often enjoy being “social aware”. We pass stories among friends and families that we can fondly relate to. Apparently, loving to gossip is not something that we should be ashamed of nor should it be something that we yearly add to our new year’s resolution as part of the habits we want to get rid. To gossip is our human nature. It is something we can’t avoid since it is embedded in the core of our psyche.

Other than we are just being human, gossip need not be all that bad since evidently a session of gossip can promote bonding. We need something to talk about so why not talk about someone who’s not here!

Please check out the article on the Science of Gossip. It’s pretty interesting. If you have thoughts that you want to share – express it here.
