This is how my day should be spent…
30 04 2008This is how a day should be spent: eating good food and watching good movies. Since I have been fairly busy with work and freelancing, I barely have enough time to do the things I enjoy so much. And if ever I do get the chance, there is always a flop. However, today is an exception.
How good is the food you ate that you just had to blog about it?! Yeah, I know my personal life doesn’t interest you, but if ever you’re in Cebu and you want good food for a cheap price, I would recommend Andoks. The roasted chicken is to die for. Andoks was once a small roast chicken stand that has now turned into this fast growing food chain all over the Philippines. I was once reluctant but now I am a believer of how sumptuous yet affordable their meals are. If you also want a pizza delivered within the metropolis of Cebu, try dialing Da Vinci’s number. Like Andoks the pizza is good and the price isn’t pocket denting.
Okay, the food I ate isn’t at all uber delicious. But the taste is very decent; the food is clean and is sold for a very cheap price. Today, I got to eat like I’m this food deprived person locked away in some forsaken dungeon for weeks. Good food for the right price. Now that’s sweet.
To top my very “full” day, James finally got to see his much anticipated Iron Man. Of course, he had to drag me along. I was not that excited to watch the movie since Iron Man’s genre doesn’t tick my taste buds. But as I sat there in front of this huge screen, I laughed, no – not cried, I got shocked, and once in awhile my jaws even dropped to all those stunts that must’ve caused Robert Downy Jr. some possible pain if ever all those were true. I was like, “that’s gotta hurt”.
The plot is simple and predictable. Very predictable, had about 70% of the story figured out. However despite that, Iron Man surprises me, every once in a while, with some quirky scenes that I must say only adds spice and tasteful humor to the entire film. I really enjoyed Robert Downy Jr.’s interpretation of Tony Stark’s character. He really played the part very well, he is absolutely riveting. The film is packed with a lot action; stuffs get blown up good, really great weapons, 2 pseudo-transformers killing each other, yeah, the movie is packed with a lot of action… Tony Stark’s last line clearly sets up a sequel and I, together with James, will be watching out for it.

I think that a goo d way to spent it hope to talk to you soon
I was wondering how Downey would be. Good to see that he did alright since I am set to take my son to see it this weekend.
Tell me how you and your son find the movie. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did..
What is the Filipino cooking style,Zeniamai,is it similar to the Malay or Indonesian styles?Or does it have more in common with the Hispanic or Latino styles?
Filipino cooking is I guess a combination of Hispanic and Chinese style…
Raj filipino cuisine are mostly salty foods and rice is always present in our meals. Zeniamai is right about the combination of hispanic and chinese style. Although our cooking style have less spices on it and lots of “bitsin”.
hmmmm andoks, i could still taste their food right now.hehehe
Thanks,Zeniamai and Elmasahe.Filipino cuisine sounds quite delicious to me.
